Anger and the Mob

It easy to be angry. It is easy to put yourself in with others that are also angry. It is easy to be part of a group that is angry. It is even easier to be part of the mob rushing to a cause, understood or not. What is the easiest thing is to be swept up in the waves of unrestrained emotion, beating upon the shores of supposed injustice.

What is hard is to be calm, quiet and contemplative, to be at ease and at peace. Do those things and you will find that you know the answers.

His Holiness Dalai Lama says it best.."Anger is the real destroyer of our good human qualities; an enemy with a weapon cannot destroy these qualities, but anger can. Anger is our real enemy."

He lists intelligece as one of the best. A mob has no intelligence. It is an entity like a virus. It's way is the only one. It changes those others around it to its thinking and only wants of it's self.

We must use our intelligence in all things. This is a must. There is no compromising this one thing. Every person has it and like a muscle, must be exersized in order to keep it strong. If it is not used we fall victim to the mob mentality and become lost within it's whirlwind of craziness. The only end is confusion and despair. Try to be the one that says, "No. This does us no good! We are better than this."
