A Down To Earth View of 9/11

Most Americans likes to celebrate this day as a national tragedy. A kind of holiday. Many Americans will tell each other to make sure they Honor the day. They will post pictures, fly virtual flags and make grand speeches about an event they had little or no connection to other than the news they watched as it happened.

What every other American must realize is that there are 2996 families that have reason to remember this day as a personal tragedy. They are not all known by name nor are willing to come forward to share their stories because it is so painful. Many would rather you not remind them of the day or feel you have no right to mourn with them.

How would you like to have to share the death of a loved one every year with the whole of a nation? Remember that the next time you berate your fellow Facebooker or online friend for NOT joining in on the so called celebration of this horrific day.

Honor the dead and those that survived but be sure you remain humble and respectful to those thousands of fellow Americans that are reminded every year that their loved one died suddenly and tragically.
